Empire of Avinadal
The Empire of Avinadal, a testament to the visionary leadership of Emperor Aries Villanite, was established in the Pelazian Galactic Year of 5323. The nation earned immense public favor from its founding act, a daring mission to liberate many slaves from a band of space pirates who had seized the remains of the damaged Hadi Station orbiting the planet of Ekrien.
Ciel, the star that Ekrien orbits, is in close proximity to several inhabited planets that have long been neglected by the Pelazian Galactic Senate. These planets, lacking a capable peacekeeper presence, were often at the mercy of criminal organizations, including the slave trade organization that had previously taken over the remains of Hadi Station. Just as despair had begun to set in, the Empire of Avinadal emerged, heralding a new era of safety and hope for the thousands of newly liberated slaves and their distant loved ones.
While the empire offered to provide free passage to these victims so they could return to their homes, many citizens who previously relied on the Galactic Senate's leadership and protection began leaving their homes instead to join their loved ones in this newly founded nation.
Most of Avinadal's population currently resides in Hadi Station, recently renamed the Throne of Avinadal. With its substantial population and the backing of the very respected Senator Mickail Sidson, Avinadal was quickly recognized as an attending ally of the Galactic Senate, allowing it to have some limited say in the Senate's decisions regarding the stars and planets reachable and defendable by the Avinadalian military.
In early 5324, the Empire of Avinadal revealed they had achieved intergalactic travel. Travel currently is limited between the Throne of Avinadal and a nation named Markovia on a planet called Plasid. While Avinadal is doing what it can to understand where Plasid exists in the universe compared to the Hadieia Galaxy, where Avinadal and Pelazia reside, the political situation on Plasid is making this very difficult. Avinadal has allied with a local nation named the Monarchy of Markovia in Plasid, and the partnered nations are doing what they can to unify the people of Plasid, but the movement is slow.
Recently, Avinadal has begun publicly focusing its efforts on two objectives. First, they intend to repair the dilapidated and outdated mining facilities on Ekrien. The planet is only inhabitable with proper survival equipment. However, due to the high-quality metals found throughout it, it is considered a valuable resource for any developing nation. Second, Avinadal has publicly announced an intent to build its military in every direction, from infantry to research and development. Meanwhile, the efforts to establish relations with the people of Plasid will continue. Still, because of the sensitive nature of the situation, the empire has vowed to pursue that much more slowly and methodically.
From a political standpoint, Avinadal is openly an Imperial Monarchy. The Emperor, however, openly relies on advisors to help guide his ultimate decisions. The internal structure of the government reflects a melding between a militaristic and corporate structures and processes built around the ideal of empowering the citizens of the empire in alignment with their direct non-financial contributions and overall work performance. Everything from medical care to entertainment is run by the imperial government.
Regarding ideology, the nation is officially aligned with a belief system known as Cognism. Cognism fully embraces science's logic and accepts personal beliefs as methods of fulfillment rather than fact. Cognistic beliefs are founded on known science and are widely accepted to be variable based on the findings of new evidence. Despite the fact-driven nature of Cognism, a fairly large section of the Avinadalian population identifies as Cognistic Nesurists: A term used to describe people who live their lives in alignment with Cognistic values but also believe that the Avinadalian Emperor, Aries Villanite, is some sort of divine being to be worshiped. The Emperor has openly stated that he does not necessarily agree with the views of the Nesurists, but he has no reason to fault them and appreciates the way they see him.
In terms of culture, the Emperor encourages an open-minded and accepting society. Despite the government's considerable control over its people, many citizens say living in the Empire of Avinadal feels more akin to living in a liberal nation with some guidelines. The Emperor has been known to heavily praise and encourage democratic decision-making in group settings. He is also not shy about crediting and listening to his advisors when they oppose his ideas with better recommendations.
